Before I Leave ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
Before I Leave is designed to work completely offline. We do not collect any personal information. All data is stored only on your device:
- App Data: All your lists, checklist items, locations, and exit session history are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device.
- No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information.
- No Device Information: We do not collect device type, operating system version, app version, or any other device identifiers.
- No Third-Party Data Collection: We do not use any analytics or tracking services. We do not collect personal data for advertising.
Permissions We Request
Our app may request the following permission to provide optional functionality:
- Camera: To take photos as proof for items that require photo verification (Premium feature). We do not access your photo library; only in-app camera capture is used.
Important: Location and photo library are not used. Labels like "Home" or "Work" are manual labels you choose; we do not use GPS or device location. All permissions are optional.
Advertising (AdMob)
The app may display banner ads via Google AdMob. We serve non-personalized ads only: we do not use your data for ad personalization, and we do not implement App Tracking Transparency (ATT) or any user tracking. Ad requests are configured to request non-personalized ads only for privacy compliance.
Third-Party Services
Before I Leave does not use any third-party authentication services. The app works offline for core features and does not require any account creation or sign-in. The only third-party integration is Google AdMob for non-personalized banner ads (see Advertising section above).
Data Storage
All your data (lists, items, locations, and session history) is stored exclusively on your device using secure storage mechanisms. We do not have any servers, and we never transmit your data to external servers. Your data never leaves your device.
Your Data Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time
- Delete: You can delete your lists, items, locations, or exit history at any time through the app settings
- Export: You can delete your data at any time through the app settings
GDPR Compliance
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
